Research grants and donations
The key words for all efforts by the Stena Foundation are education, motivation, and creativity.The main research focus is on innovation, technical developments, and entrepreneurship, but funding has also gone to ground-breaking multidisciplinary projects in the fields of medicine, science, social science, and the humanities.
Some examples of major commitments are the Stena Industry Innovation Lab (Sii-Lab) at Chalmers; the visualisation lab at Universeum (Vislab); a centre for the Spinalis Center, for spinal cord care and research; added resources at the Ågrenska centre for children with rare diagnoses. Yet another major ongoing project involves the quality of life for children and young adults.
